Join the St. John Church Unleashed of Grand Prairie, Texas, for the 2020 Virtual HBCU Summit for high school students and student athletes. The Summit is college awareness and recruitment event that will include live panel discussions on important topics surrounding Historically Black Colleges and Universities including, among other things, the success of these schools’ athletic programs in providing a the high percentage of African American athletes to the NFL, NBA and other professional sports. The next panel convenes at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29 on Facebook @sjbcfamily. Guests will discuss "What's Life Like on 'The Yard' of an HBCU?" The final panel convenes at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 with the discussion "How Will I Pay for My HBCU Education?" Event are free and open to high school students, student athletes and their families. Invited panelists include Michael Sorrell, president of Paul Quinn College, and other standout HBCU students and graduates.
